Midday Supervisor

Pay range: £18,198 pro rata per annum

Hours: 2.5 hours per day, Monday - Friday, term time only

Term: 1 year fixed term contract, possibility of a permanent contract


An exciting opportunity has arisen for 3 Midday Supervisors to join a thriving and vibrant team at Clore Shalom School.


Your role will be supervise our pupils whilst they have lunch and in the playground or field.  We believe that our pupils benefit greatly from being in the fresh air and are outside in most weathers!

Duties will include

  • Prepare the layout of the tables in preparation for lunch including laying up tables.
  • Supervise the pupils when they are in the dining room eating lunch, encouraging good social skills and manners
  • Clear up the dining room after the lunch break including clearing any food left on the tables, wiping the tables and chairs, and sweeping the floor.
  • Supervise activities and maintain the health, safety, welfare, good conduct and safeguarding of pupils during the midday break, having regard to special or additional needs.
  • Encourage pupils to select and eat healthy balanced meals
  • Provide a safe environment for pupils to play outside
  • Encourage children to be resilient and independent and follow the values of their school
  • Ensure the behaviour system is followed and deal with incidents accordingly.  Report to senior staff in line with the school’s policy



This post is classed as having a high degree of contact with children or vulnerable adults and is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.  An enhanced disclosure will be sought through the Disclosure and Barring Service as part of Hertfordshire County Council’s pre-employment checks.


Additional Information

All staff are required to participate in training and other learning activities, and in Performance Management and development, as required by the school's policies and practice.


The post holder is required to contribute to and support the overall aims and ethos of the school.
