We also spoke about the difference between day and night time and the children were able to order familiar events. Alongside learning about rhythm and rhyme the children have begun to learn a sound a week. So far we have learnt the sounds: s, m and a. Some children are now beginning to form the letters in their name! It would be great if you could practice this at home in a fun way. Here is a list of some ideas:
1- Using a cotton bud and paint to form the letters.
2- Use finger to mark make in a tray of Salt
3- Manipulate playdough into letters.
It is important to develop strength in those hand muscles. Playdough is fantastic for manipulating and developing fine and gross motor movement.
