If your child is in Miss Barber's group they started Set 2 sounds today(20/2). Please see the sound mat below so you can see what sounds they will be learning!
Please do not forget to return library books each Thursday
After half term we are learning about 'Pirates.' Some children will be starting to learn their 'Set 2' Sounds, some will continue to practise and review sounds and blending.
In maths we will be learning number bonds, revisiting addition , subtraction, doubling, sharing and repeating patterns.
Please ensure reading folders are sent in on reading days and that you are writing to us and hearing your children read. It is really important at these early stages of their reading journey.

What a Busy Week- 'Superwrom' and lots more!

We are changing our role play into a wrapping centre- if you have any wrapping paper, cards, gift tags and other things please send them in!
Please ensure gloves, hats and scarves are all labelled and wrap the children up warm. We go outside in any weather.

Our Learning in Pictures- Week 6
Next week we are learning all about 'Space.' We are learning through the text 'Man on the Moon.' We will be having a picnic on the moon, making some explosions, making alien soup and lots more. Get ready for another fun week.
Some children are ready to move onto ditty sheets, these will come home in their bags on a THURSDAY. Please practise these at home. If they have not got one of these they will get a blending book to keep practising the skill of segmenting and blending.
We are in need of large brooms and mops, jerry cans and old flowers. If you have any you wish to donate we would be very grateful.

Shabbat Shalom
We love our weekly Shabbat Service. Mrs Cohen, Mrs Goldsmith and Rabbi Neal join us weekly.
Next week we are learning about Light and Dark. We will also be celebrating Nursery Rhyme week where we will be starting off with a 'Humpty Dumpty Crime Scene.'

A Pet Visit 11/11/22
Next week we are learning through the texts of 'Farmer Duck' and 'Rumble in the Jungle.'
Please keep us updated with their phonics and remember to write in their reading record book. We will be reading with them once a week.
New sounds this week- we haven't taught all of them some are being taught next week. So do not worry if they don't know them!
Please practise their blending books- if they find it hard model it to them first and don't forget to practise their letter formation!
We are looking for old mops and old brooms. If you wish to donate any we would be so grateful. This is for large mark making outside to develop gross motor skills.
Wow- we are so proud of how the children have settled in. They are learning so much and are so independent already.
Next term we are learning about 'Animals' 'People Who Help Us' 'Space and Chanukah' and lots more!

What a wonderful week we have had where we have continued to learn about 'Ourselves.' Oral health is a huge part of the new curriculum and we have been learning how to brush our teeth properly! This was a lot of fun. We have also started an experiment over time. We have placed an old real tooth in coca cola - we will see what has happened to the tooth over time.
We are still embedding all our routines. This week we have focussed on the welly boot station. The children now know if they go into the digging area or mud kitchen they need to change into their boots (even if they do go on the wrong feet!!)
Phonics is moving at a fast pace- please practise your sounds and send us some videos on tapestry.
Next week we are learning about Yom Kippur and Dinosaurs! If you have any more conkers then send them our way.

Week 4 Fun
In JS Reception learnt about the festival of Rosh Hashanah. We dipped apple in honey and enjoyed tasting it and made Rosh Hashanah cards by cutting and gluing Rosh Hashanah pictures. We can now all say “Shana Tova” to our friends.

Reception Week 2
We are so proud of the children, they have settled so well and are loving 'Clore' life. Next week we are learning about 'worries.' We will be using the texts 'Silly Billy' by Anthony Browne and 'The Worry Monster' by Anna Llenas. In addition to this we will start learning about Rosh Hashanah and we have lots of creative activities so that the children can deepen their learning.
