In science today children were left fascinated and highly curious about how our world is made! They understood that everything in our world is made from different types of particles and atoms. After grasping how particles are arranged differently in solids, liquids and gases they began to ask many philosophical questions such as:
Is god made of atoms?
Who made particles?
Feel free to discuss these at home!
English - Black History Month - Poetry 🇯🇲 🏝
Over the past two weeks we have been exploring poetry by the black poet Valerie Bloom. We have written metaphors about her home country (Jamaica) and even learnt to say some words in Jamaican patois! We have sung about ‘Pinda Cake’ and written poems inspired by her poem ‘Granny is’
We learnt all about Seirian Sumner’s work with wasps. At the start of the session, the only words that came to mind when thinking about wasps were negative. Sting was the most popular! After learning about her research we decided that wasps, while still maybe a little mean, are also helpful, useful and provide good animal control.
