COVID-19 Update: Admissions 2021 - Evidence of Synagogue Attendance
In these unprecedented times, as we all follow government guidelines and practise social distancing, we appreciate the implications for parents wishing to fulfil our criteria for school admissions for Nursery and Reception 2021. Many, but not all, synagogues are offering live streams of their services and some are providing good alternatives to regular services. Some synagogues are using a Kabbalat Shabbat and Havdalah in place of Shabbat services and we are happy to accept evidence of attendance to these as an alternative.
Our criteria remains the same as set out in the Admissions Policy. However, during the lockdown or long periods of self-isolation, you should contact your synagogue for advice on how they will monitor service attendance. If your synagogue is unable to confirm your attendance, you should take a screenshot of any services attended, preferably with family members next to the screen and show the date that the photo was taken. These photos should be sent together with your Certificate of Religious Practice - please do not send in individual photos as we are not able to allocate them to your application if not sent in together. If you are unable to send your CRP to your synagogue for signature, again please keep photographic evidence.
We hope to publish a list of synagogues in our area who are able to offer these alternative options. In the meantime, please look at the three supporting movements to see why they member synagogues offer:
If you are collecting points with an United Synagogue affiliated synagogue, please refer to their policy as and when it is updated - https://www.theus.org.uk/article/jewish-school-admissions-update-certificate-religious-practice-crp.
Please email Mrs Nunn at if you have any further queries. This will be forwarded to a governor for their response.
